According to a recent revision of the genus, Clerodendrum laevifolium is morphologically similar to C. nutans, but differs in having an ovate or ovate-lanceolate shaped calyx lobe (more than 3 mm wide vs. 1–2.6 mm wide) . Clerodendrum wallichii Merr.,1952 is a synonym of Clerodendrum laevifolium Blume, 1826. Clerodendrum wallichii 曾經被誤當為C. penduliflorum 同物異名。 Leeratiwong, Charan & Chantaranothai, P. & Paton, Alan.
