Leaves linear to lanceolate, less than 1.5 cm wide, margin subentire or occasionally shallowly toothed, sessile and subamplexicaul, glabrous and smooth; those on branches smaller in size, bract‑like. Capitula arranged in loose panicle or corymb. Involucres subcylindric; phyllaries 4–5‑seriate, linear‑lanceolate to subulate, apex acute or acuminate, greenish, some tinged purple at the tip, margin scarious, outermost ones 2 mm, length gradually increased inward, innermost 5 mm. Marginal ligulate florets white or pale pink in colour, limb 1.5–5 mm, slightly exserted at anthesis, always recurved and rolling back when dried. Central tubular florets yellow, 3 mm, lower half of corolla tube narrower, upper half broader, 5‑lobed at apex. Cypselae pale brown, cylindric, 0.8–2 mm, pubescent. Pappus 4–5 mm, longer than tubular florets, white or reddish, easily shed off as a whole ring. 深圳植物誌: 多年生半灌木狀草本。 莖直立，高0.5-1.4m，分枝多，幼枝被短柔毛，老枝無毛，有稜。 莖下部葉具短柄，葉片長橢圓狀披針形，長4-10cm，寬0.5-1cm，莖中部葉無柄，葉片長披針形或長條狀披針形或披針形，長3- 5.5cm，寬0.5-1cm，基部漸狹，邊緣全緣，先端尖，下面被短柔毛或毛脫落，上面無毛，中脈明顯，白色，側脈每邊4-6條，上部葉較小 。 頭狀花序直徑1.5-2cm，具長花序梗，在莖、枝端排成開展的圓錐花序狀的聚繖花序；苞片葉小；總苞三角狀杯形；總苞片4-7層， 外層總苞片披針形，先端尖，內層總苞片長圓狀披針形；舌狀花10餘朵(#似不正確, FOHK也沒提)，長約1mm，寬0.2-0.5mm，通常長於冠毛，稀等長於冠毛 ，舌片淡紫白色；管狀花5-15朵(FOHK沒提)，簷部具5裂片。 瘦果狹長橢圓形，長1-2mm，略扁，兩面肋，被短毛；冠毛白色，1層。 花期：6-11月。 果期：6-11月。 分佈：原產於北美洲。 北半球溫帶及亞熱帶地區均有歸化。 四川、廣東和香港亦有歸化。 | |
