Leaf sheaths green, without hairs, with scattered, yellowish brown, triangular spines to 1.5 cm, or spines absent; ocreas prominent, not spiny; knees present; flagella to 1 m; petiole short or absent; rachis to 0.5 m with to 10 clustered, lanceolate pinnae per side, apical few close together in a fan shape, apical pair joined at their bases, margins often with a thin, brown line of hairs; middle pinnae 11-28 cm, 2-6.5 cm wide at mid-point, margins bristly; cirri absent. Inflorescences to 1.8 m, usually flagellate; inflorescence bracts tubular, briefly split at apex. Fruits yellowish[果黃色], globose[球狀], to 0.9 cm in diam., stalked FOHK: Climbing rattan. Stems clustered, to 6 m or longer, slender, 6–15 cm in diam. Leaves pinnate, 45–55 cm; pinnae 2–4-clustered, 4–5 at apex, lanceolate, 10–26 × 2–5.5 cm; rachis with few single hook-like spines; cirrus absent; sheath green, glabrous, with few triangular spines or not; knees present; flagellum slender, to 1 m, with hook-like single spines; petioles short. Inflorescences borne from flagella, prophyll tubular, male inflorescences branched 2–3 orders, ca. 50 cm, the lower branches ca. 8 cm; rachillae 10–13 mm, with 4–6 flowers per side; male flowers small, ca. 3 mm; female inflorescences branched 2 orders, branches 3–4, 8–15 cm, the lower rachillae 2.5–5 cm, with 5–6 flowers per side; female flowers small, 3–4 mm. Fruits globose, 8–9 mm in diam., whitish yellow, scales in 21–23 vertical rows, with a groove in the middle, persistent sepals and petals stalk-like.
