Stems quadrangular, sulcate, pubescent. Petioles 3–8 mm, pubescent; leaf blades elliptic, ovate‑elliptic or elliptic‑oblong, 1.5–4 × 0.8–1.5 cm, base broadly cuneate to subrounded, or slightly decurrent onto the petioles, apex acute or obtuse, margin entire or slightly undulate, subglabrous or sparsely hispid, cystoliths numerous, lateral veins 3–6 pairs, prominent. Spikes terminal or axillary in upper leaf axils, 1–6 cm. Peduncles 0.5–7 cm, densely pilose. Bracts elliptic lanceolate, 4–5 × 1 mm, abaxially pilose, ciliate; bracteoles lanceolate, 4–5 mm, abaxially pilose, ciliate. Calyx 5–6 mm, 4‑lobed to the base; lobes linear, 1‑veined, with yellowish white margin, abaxially pilose along the veins, ciliate. Corolla pink or white, red spotted on the lower lip, ca. 7 mm, 2‑lipped, upper lip ca. 3 mm, apex emarginate, lower lip ca. 3 × 3.5 mm, 3‑lobed, lobes ovate, the middle lobe slightly larger, ca. 1 × 1–1.5 mm. Stamens 2, exserted; filaments glabrous, ca. 4 mm; anther‑thecae superposed, lower one spurred at base, the upper one muticous. Ovary pubescent; style ca. 5 mm, pubescent.
