| 備註: 娃娃手記: 1.葉邊緣具疏細鋸齒，無毛；中脈和次脈在兩面均稍隆起。 深圳植物誌: 小葉南燭[深誌]與南燭的區別在於：植株近無毛。葉較小，菱狀卵形至披針狀橢圓形，長1-4cm，寬0.6-1.5cm。花淡黃色至白色；花冠筒直徑3-4mm。 FOHK: Shrub or small tree, evergreen, 1.5–4(–9) m tall, much branched. Branchlets initially ± puberulent, becoming glabrous in age. Leaves alternate, firmly papery to thin leathery; petiole 2–5.5 mm, puberulous; leaf blade rhombic-elliptic to elliptic or lanceolate-elliptic, 1.1–4.5 × 0.5–2.5 cm, base cuneate or broadly cuneate, apex acuminate to acute-acuminate, rarely long acuminate, margin thickened, serrulate at least on the distal half, glabrous; midvein and secondary veins slightly raised on both surfaces. Inflorescences terminal or axillary, racemose, 2–4 cm, glabrous to puberulent. Bracts caducous or rarely persistent, leaf-like, elliptic to lanceolate, ca. 5 × 2 mm; bracteoles subulate, persistent. Pedicels 2.4–4.5 mm, pubescent to glabrous. Calyx pubescent, 5-lobed; lobes triangular, 0.9–1.1 × 0.9–1.1 mm, apex acute to acuminate. Corolla white, rarely reddish, tubular-urceolate, 4.0–6.3 × 2.1–3.2 mm, puberulent abaxially, shallowly 5-lobed; lobes reflexed, triangular. Stamens 10, included; filaments hairy; anther (theca and tubule) 2.5–3 mm; appendage very short and inconspicuous to absent; tubule 2–2.5 times as long as thecae. Style glabrous; ovary inferior, 5-locular, densely pubescent at least surrounding base of style. Berry globose, 6–7 mm in diam., puberulent to pubescent. Notes: Vaccinium bracteatum[南燭] is known to have edible fruits and its leaves and stems can also be used as herbal medicinal. However, there is no documented uses of var. chinense[小葉烏飯樹_小葉南燭]. This variety only differs from V. bracteatum var. bracteatum in leaf size and shape[南燭同小葉南燭兩者分別在於葉的大細同形狀], although the latter also shown considerable variation. Specimens collected from Guangdong seemed to show a continuous range in leaf size and shape.
