Panicles terminal, lax, about half as long as leaves; peduncle short. Flowers 1.2–1.5 cm, fragrant. Pedicels short, articulate. Calyx ca. 2 mm, puberulous abaxially, teeth short, obtuse. Petals yellow or slightly purplish, oblong, 1.2–1.5 cm. Staminal tube cylindrical, glabrous, apex truncate; anthers 10, ellipsoidal. Ovary stipitate, slightly hispidulous. Style cylindrical, short and thick, hairy. Capsule greyish yellow to brown, subglobose to ellipsoidal, ca. 4.5 × 3.5–4 cm, usually 3-valved, woody, surface coarse and verrucose.
